Walkable Neighborhoods

Some parts of Los Angeles make it surprisingly easy to leave the car where it is.

Think morning coffee, dinner, groceries, parks and your favorite local spots all close enough to become part of the same walk. You may not ditch the car entirely, but you’ll have plenty of reasons not to reach for the keys.

Best fit if you want: Coffee walks, easy dinners out, local businesses and a neighborhood that feels alive outside your front door.

Recommended neighborhoods:

West Side: Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Mar Vista

Creative Pockets: West Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Highland Park

The local fine print: More walkability usually means more activity, tighter parking and a little less privacy. The upside? Your neighborhood becomes part of your everyday life.
